This show brings together two legends of the Melbourne music scene, Charles Jenkins & Lisa Miller, alongside recent Melbourne adopter and acclaimed singer/songwriter Ben Salter.

Charles has so much soul and authenticity in his songs, and one of the most distinctive and effecting vocal drawls going. Every time I hear a song in a Melbourne bar that sounds amazing and I can’t put my finger on it, it seems to be Charles Jenkins. With such an incredible back catalogue to draw from, we’re looking forward to seeing what songs he chooses for a rare solo set.

Lisa Miller will be performing with long time guitarist Shane O’Mara, drawing on songs from over 10 releases over her illustrious career. Lisa has been nominated for 6 ARIA Awards and toured with the likes of Nick Cave, Neil Young and Billy Bragg. Lisa is the master of taking a simple idea and making it poignant and beautiful in song.

Marlon Williams recently described Ben Salter’s performance while on tour in NZ as the greatest show he has ever seen. We like Marlon and think he has good taste so that’s a good start. Beyond that, Ben has also impressed as a member of the Gin Club, The Wilson Pickers and with his acclaimed solo album The Cat. This will be a beauty in the ever attentive Folk Club environment.
