US folk singer/songwriter Kristina Olsen returns to Australia to launch her new album Chemistry. Alongside her show at The Melbourne Folk Club she’ll also play every festival known to folk man, including Woodford, Cygnet, Illawarra, Major’s Creek, and Maldon Folk Festivals.

Olsen is recognised as one of the most entertaining and compelling performers on the international folk circuit. Touring ten months a year throughout the world, she has released 11 albums and has recently added ‘author’ to her mantle with the release of They Paid Us In Tub Time.

As you’ll see from this video, Olsen is one of those classic folk performers who combines incredible songs, storytelling, humour, and passionate delivery. Can’t wait for this one!

Julia Jacklin is a Sydney based folk act who has been compared to Laura Marling and Joni Mitchell. Her songs are gorgeous and have been getting a lot of attention over the past year in her hometown. Now it’s time for Melbourne to discover her.

“For four minutes I completely forgot about the world. It was all about this song.” Dom Alessio, Triple J

Luke Thompson has been building some Aussie connections of late, touring with Jack Carty, almost Australian Passenger, and Boy & Bear’s Tim Hart. He also recorded his latest record with Hart and Stu Larsen. The New Zealand singer/songwriter has been releasing records and touring consistently over the past ten years, building a loyal following in his home country for his emotive, whimsical folk songs. We reckon he’ll complement Ms Jacklin just perfectly.
