We are excited to host iconic Australian singer/songwriter Shane Howard for the launch his latest solo album Deeper South at The Melbourne Folk Club.

Howard has a treasured musical history, starting with his years fronting folk/rock group Goanna, in which he wrote classic Australian songs “Solid Rock” and “Let the Franklin Flow”, and continuing throughout a solo career that started in 1987, and included 13 albums.

Deeper South features songs that are deep and dark yet illuminated by great shafts of light. It is a postcard from ‘the edge of the world’ – the unique southern coast of Australia where Howard grew up and still lives today.

Shane will be joined by outstanding local singer/songwriter Stan Woodhouse of Skyscraper Stan and the Commission Flats. They are soon to release their debut album, and anyone who knows Stan is well aware he is one of the most talented writers and performers in the country at the moment.
