Laura Jean released one of the most acclaimed local records of 2014, called “an uncompromising triumph” by Rolling Stone Magazine, and nominated for Folk Album of the Year at the Music Victoria Awards.

This self-titled release is Laura’s 3rd album, and sees her stripping back the production, a focusing of Laura’s inward gaze and a sharpening of her storytelling gift. The result is an album both intensely personal and somehow timeless. Two things that suit Folk Club perfectly.

Over 5 solo albums and 3 EP’s, Darren Hanlon has established himself as a compelling storyteller and prolific songwriter with his observational wit and memorable pop hooks.

Known for his engagement with his audiences, Darren has toured with Billy Bragg, the Magnetic Fields, Violent Femmes, and Bright Eyes and continues to tour across the globe.

He has an album due for release in 2015 on Yep Roc Records.

Single Twin is the moniker for Marcus Teague, and we have to be honest and admit that his album Marcus Teague from 2011 is our break up album of the century. It is gorgeous, melodic, brooding, and uplifting if you’re a certain way inclined. From all reports, it is not even about breaking up with someone, but plants such a strong emotion and maintains such subtlety that you can create your own world within it. Looking forward to this one.
