Don McGlashan’s name and reputation is rightly deserving of its place alongside the likes of Neil and Tim Finn and Dave Dobbyn in New Zealand’s musical history book. With five entries in APRA NZ’s “100 Best NZ Songs of All Time”, two Silver Scroll wins, and as a founding member of iconic NZ bands Blam, Blam, Blam, The Front Lawn and The Mutton Birds; McGlashan’s CV is impressive to say the least.

In April of this year, McGlashan released “Lucky Stars” in his homeland; just his third solo album to date. The album has proved to be McGlashan’s most successful record since his hits with The Mutton Birds, going Top Five on the NZ charts, and earning him widespread critical acclaim. McGlashan makes a very welcome return to Australia in November. Make every effort to catch one of New Zealand’s most revered performers showcasing tracks from his stunning new album as well as many favourites. Don’t miss this very special show in the intimate atmosphere of Melbourne Folk Club at Bakehouse Studios.

The son of two musicians, Jed Rowe grew up in rural NSW and relocated to Melbourne in 2003. He showed early promise as an author, winning a national undergraduate short story writing award. He released a solo EP Life (2006) before forming The Jed Rowe Band and releasing two albums: Midnight Sun (2009) and The Ember And The Afterglow (2012), which was produced by ARIA Winner Jeff Lang. Jed has recently released his acclaimed new album The Last Day Of Winter, described as “Twisted folk, bluesy country wanderings and edgy bluegrass… Rowe stands out in the pack” by Rhythms Magazine
